Anyone looking for characteristic quality in the Italian Abruzzo will quickly end up with a small group of passionate small wine companies. One of these is the young Azienda Collefrisio near the town of Frisa southeast of Pescara. With a small occupation, excellent wines are made from approximately 35 hectares of organically cultivated vineyards that are among the very best in the region. The best wine from this azienda is the Collefrisio di Collefrisio, which is made in a classic way. Long soaking of the grapes and long maturation in small oak barrels.
