Description

One of our favorite southern Italian producers is the progressive Collefrisio, near the town of Frisa, southeast of Pescara. A small team makes excellent wines here - from the grapes of approximately 35 hectares of organically cultivated vineyards - that are among the very best in the region.

For example, this powerful dry white wine from the pecorino grape. This native Italian grape variety is almost exclusively planted in Abruzzo and Marche. The wine is highly rated by wine connoisseurs, which is why pecorino is making a slow comeback.

Winemaker Amedeo de Luca turns it into a full, flawless white wine, with a beautiful taste balance between fresh acidity and a seductive juiciness. A great culinary match with tasty starters and main courses, such as vitello tonnato and sea bass from the oven.

Anyone looking for characteristic quality in the Italian Abruzzo region will soon end up with a group of passionate small wine companies.
One of these is the young Azienda Collefrisio, near the town of Frisa. With a small workforce, organic wines are made here that are among the very best in the region.
This powerful, oak-aged, dry white wine is made from the pecorino grape. This native Italian species is almost exclusively planted in Abruzzo and the slightly more northerly Marche. The grape is making a slow comeback and is highly valued by connoisseurs.
