Description

Many white wines are usually made for quick consumption. But there are also those that improve significantly in taste after a few months - or even years - of bottle maturation. Like this beautiful dry white wine from Pierre-André Ournac. On his small family estate he makes a special quality viognier from the grapes of old vines.

That this white wine in particular benefits from bottle maturation undoubtedly has to do with the low yield in the vineyard and the associated concentration in taste. Now, more than a year after the harvest, the fermentation aromas have disappeared. They have made way for beautiful and characteristic aromas of peach, apple and flowers for good viognier.

These are, by the way, modest and refined present, whereby the full and creamy, yet fresh taste combines perfectly with refined fish dishes. Wine of this level convincingly shows that in this southern French region good quality can be found for a very competitive price.
