Description

Monterrei is located east of the much better known Rías Baixas and is the driest and warmest wine region in Galicia. The conditions for wine growing are therefore much more favorable. The grapes ripen more easily and the wines are usually rounder and fuller in taste. Monterrei - like other small wine regions in this part of Spain - is on the rise. At the Finca Os Cobatos wine estate of the Mendez family, state-of-the-art work is done.

However, for quality reasons, the area's typical Godello grapes are still picked by hand. After fermentation, the wine remains in contact with the spent yeast cells for more than four months. A proven classic technique to give the wine a fuller and softer flavor structure. The result: a juicy and original fresh-dry white wine, with an excellent price-pleasure ratio and a long series of very good press reviews.
