Elegant white wine

|
Beautiful balance in ripeness and freshness
Extra aromatic thanks to a small portion of Muscat grapes
Mild, smooth and fresh in taste |
A delicious Viognier
Fragrant and smooth southern French white wine with the scent of ripe peach and apple. The taste is mildly smooth and fresh. Excellent wine with many cold or warm starters, possibly also with a mild chicken dish.
Laurent Delaunay
Laurent Delaunay responsible for the La Cour des Dames wines comes from a family with a long history in Burgundy. After training as an oenologue and working experience in California, he established himself as an independent winemaker in France near Nuits-Saint Georges in 1995. In addition to specializing in high Burgundy, he soon focused on the selection of high-quality wine in the south of France. The Viognier grape does not always live up to great expectations in the South of France and can be bulky and too floral. However, Laurent Delaunay achieves a beautiful balance in ripeness and freshness. He also adds a few percent of ripe Muscat grapes, which provides extra aromatic intensity. The 2013 harvest won the Brabant Asparagus Wine Competition.
Interesting detail: the name La Tour des Dames was changed to La Cour des Dames from the 2014 harvest because the famous Château Latour in Bordeaux (!) objected to the use of the old name.
