Tasting note Lamartine Cahors
Full red wine from France, made from cot and tannat grapes. The aroma is fresh and fruity, with nuances of strawberries and berries. The full, smooth taste goes well with poultry or fine cream cheeses.
Description
Alain Gayraud makes beautiful wines at his Château Lamartine, the quality of which has recently been spectacularly confirmed. His cuvée Tradition is the second cheapest Lamartine.
Naturally, we immediately requested samples of this award-winning harvest: we tasted a classic, very pure red Cahors of a special level. We also invite you to taste this 'cool-climate wine'. A wine without the sweet, creamy taste of sun-drenched southern fruit, but with a classic taste structure with freshness and refined tannin.
Perhaps less suitable as a drinks wine, but great in taste with certain dishes. Completely in line with the culinary tradition of the region where wine is usually drunk at the table. The vineyard grows 90% Malbec and 10% Merlot grapes. After fermentation, a short maturation follows in partly cement vats, small casks and large wooden barrels. The influence of the oak can therefore only be tasted very slightly.
