Juicy dry white wine from France with a fresh aroma of green apple and citrus. The fruity, balanced and full taste goes very well with salads and fish. Also a nice aperitif!
Description
A textbook example of modern white wine: although not specifically 'terroir'-typed, this sauvignon nevertheless stands head and shoulders above the large global supply of this popular grape. La Cour des Dames shows that France can also compete worldwide in current wines.
The grapes are harvested in the cool morning and quickly transported to the cellar. After short contact with the skins and fermentation at a low temperature, maturing on lees ('sur lie') for several months follows, which gives the wine a nice juiciness. Bottled of course with a screw cap to optimally preserve the grape expression!
