Organic family business in Burgundy
French red wine with the scent of ripe cherry herbs and light oak. The taste is soft and elegant. Delicious with refined dishes with mushroom cream sauces and poultry.
Domaine Huguenot at its best
Quality has its price, but a high price does not always guarantee (top) quality! This certainly applies in Burgundy. We are therefore proud of our find from Marsannay, the northernmost municipality of the Côte de Nuits. Here Philippe Huguenot makes a beautiful, refined red wine from grapes from organic vineyards.
Given the high quality, this wine is competitively priced. Naturally, Philippe picks the grapes by hand, so that an initial, strict selection takes place directly in the vineyard. As with any top company, he selects again when the grapes arrive at the cellar. Only the best grapes go to the fermentation vats. This is not done with pumps, but via gravity. This prevents Huguenot from premature damage and oxidation of the grapes.
After the alcoholic fermentation in tanks, the second, so-called lactic acid fermentation follows in small oak barrels. The wine matures in these barrels for approximately eighteen months. Philippe chooses one and two year old casks, so that not the oak, but rather the finesse and purity of the Pinot Noir are expressed.
Philippe Huguenot is currently considered an 'insider tip' in the Côte de Nuits and has a bright future ahead of him thanks to the high quality of his wine. Buy now from this beautiful harvest and drink the wine at a special moment.
