The grape variety that will surprise you from the Languedoc
Zinfandel is a well-known and famous grape variety, especially in California. Many red wines derive their high quality from it. However, planting is prohibited in France. However, a few years ago the Domaine de lArjolle received permission from the French government to plant a small vineyard as an experiment. Since Zinfandel is not permitted in France as a grape variety in wines with a regional designation, winemaker Louis Marie Teisserenc is forced to sell this wine as a table wine (vin de table). In such a case, the grape variety may not be mentioned, hence Z de lArjolle! The low yield, professional vinification and twelve months of aging in oak have produced a special top wine.
