Blend of Syrah and Grenache
The Domaine Alary is no stranger to the commune of Cairanne. Long before the existence of appellation legislation, the Alary family started making wine some three hundred years ago. The wines in the commune of Cairanne can be considered among the best of the entire Rhône region. This Font dEstevenas is a Rhône Villages with the appellation Cairanne and is made from approximately 60% Syrah 20% Grenache and 20% of the fairly rare Counoise grape. Some Grenache vines are more than 100 years old and therefore give a low yield of very high quality.
