Full, complex dry white wine with a refined aroma of ripe yellow fruit, peach and nuances of almond and caramel. The taste is powerful, persistent and ends with a balanced, fresh aftertaste.

 

Sylvie Plessis and her husband Christian make beautiful wines from the Chenin grape in the small appellation Savennières. The couple owns 7 hectares of slope vineyard, planted on the south with a subsoil of different types of slate. The Chenin grape is harvested here late and by hand, only from October onwards and is done in several times so that only the ripest grapes are picked. Sylvie's careful vinification produces precise and pure wines with fantastic terroir and grape expression. Chenin of this level is one of the great white wines of France and can be aged for a long time, if desired, to create great flavor complexity. The Clos Brochard comes from a special terrace vineyard with a low yield. This full, particularly beautiful wine can be drunk young by picking very ripe grapes, for example with grilled salmon or veal.
