Portuguese red wine, with a spicy scent of ripe red fruit and slightly toasted and spicy nuances. The taste is full, ripe and balanced. Beautiful, structured wine, great with stews or grilled dishes.

Description

One of Portugal's most classic wine regions has entered a new phase. Young winemakers have broken away from the drying, aged style of the previous generation. They now make elegant, world-class wine on the characteristic granite soil in the Dão. A good example is the small Casa da Passarella, where Paulo Nunes knows how to process native grapes into great wines. This A Descoberta is made from Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Alfrocheiro and Jaen grapes that ferment in open vats. Maturation mainly takes place in cement tanks and to a small extent in oak barrels. The result: a complex, refined red wine. Tip: aerate this wine in a decanter.
