Tasting note Domaine Mazilly Bourgogne Chardonnay

Beautiful, elegant white Burgundy with a fragrant aroma of ripe apple, light butter and a refined touch of oak. Round in taste and ending with a fresh, balanced aftertaste. Excellent to combine with fish dishes or poultry. Drinkable from two years after harvest, can easily be kept for four to five years.

Description

Frédéric and Aymeric Mazilly make signature wines of chardonnay and pinot noir on the small family-owned winery in Meloisey, just west of Pommard. Their white burgundy chardonnay, the little sister of Mazilly's meursault, is a hit and very characteristic of the wines of the Côtes de Beaune. The wine ferments and ages in small oak barrels, 20% of which are renewed annually. Mazilly's white burgundy, with its invigorating freshness, is the wine for refined dishes, such as poached or roasted fish, white meat or poultry. The wine is now drinking nicely, but can continue to mature for up to four to five years after the harvest.
