A fresh Inzolia
Typical Sicilian dry white wine. Delicately fragrant, with nuances of fresh yellow fruit and slightly citrus. The taste starts juicy, full and fresh and ends aromatic and balanced. Delicious with cold and warm fish dishes or not too spicy pasta dishes.
Caruso & Minini
The Caruso & Minini family winery is located on the western tip of Sicily, in the province of Trapani. Although the domain is located in the heart of Marsala production, the family mainly focuses on the production of white and red wines. With an eye for the age-old wine culture, modern, typically Sicilian wines are made from both indigenous and international grape varieties.
The Inzolia is a perfect example of such a classic Sicilian white wine. It is truly a local grape variety, which originates on the west side of the island. While it used to be an important component of Marsala, the grape is increasingly used for dry white wines, whether or not in a blend.
This one from Caruso & Minini is bottled as a monocépage, or in purezza, as the Italians so beautifully say. The wine is fermented and matured exclusively in steel tanks. This results in a beautiful, pure expression of the inzolia grape.
Drink this mild, fragrant, slightly spicy Sicilian as is, or in combination with, for example, a creamy pasta with mushrooms, baked or grilled fish, or chicken from the oven. La dolce vita!
