Information

full-bodied wine with a smooth, rich taste
14 months maturation in oak barrels
the perfect and affordable wine
great with game and spicy dishes

Monastrell x Garnacha tintorera

Full red wine with a powerful aroma of vanilla, ripe red fruit and a light spiciness. The taste starts fragrant and round and ends with a smooth aftertaste, soft tannin oak.

Case Almansa tinto

A good companion for game dishes and spicy dishes should be powerful. With full, ripe tannins, to be able to handle sauces with a pronounced taste. The intensity of the smell is also important, because that largely determines the length and quality of the aftertaste.

In the Spanish Almansa we found the perfect and affordable wine that meets these requirements at winemaker Juan Pablo Bonete. The Camino de Caza - which literally means towpath - is made from 70% garnacha tintorera and 30% monastrell grapes from sixty to seventy year old vines. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 850 to 900 meters.

With an average production of only one bottle per vine, the yield is particularly low. This ensures a lot of flavour concentration in the grapes. The Garnacha matures for fourteen months in 300-litre American oak barrels and the Monastrell in French Allier oak.

This is followed by assembly, bottling and further maturation in the bottle. The result is a beautiful, full and structured red wine with ripe, soft tasting tannins and a seductive influence of the cask maturation.
Tip: decant the wine an hour before serving, so that the aroma can develop optimally.
