Terre nere Calderara Sottana
Full yellow in color and powerful in smell, with caramel notes, oak and ripe yellow fruit. The full, dry taste is powerful, persistent and with a beautiful, creamy aftertaste.
Description
The Burgundy of the Mediterranean, is how owner Marco de Grazia characterizes his refined, mineral Sicilian wines, from slope vineyards on the northern flank of the Etna volcano. The altitude provides cooling and refinement to the wines.
The organic planting and the ambition to produce top quality force Marco to low yields so that the native grapes have a beautiful expression. This cuvée is made from one grape variety, the carricante, which comes from old vines. With careful vinification such as fermentation in oak barrels and maturation in large barrels, it is a striking Etna wine.
Only 4% of the designation of origin is white and according to many, this wine is at the top. The wine is bottled approximately twelve months after fermentation.
