Full red in color and spicy and fruity in smell, with a touch of oak. Full flavor, with a fresh continuation and light tannin in the final. Fragrant aftertaste with ripe fruit and herbs.

Description

There are still real discoveries to be made in lesser-known wine regions. Trouvailles that surprise everyone during comparative blind tastings. A good example is Bodegas Piqueras from the small Almansa in southeastern Spain. The region is not well known and has a persistent reputation as a supplier of mediocre wine.

This is an incentive for owner and winemaker Juan Pablo Bonete to show the great potential this region has. He makes two excellent wines at the 110 hectare Finca Los Timonares for a competitive price. The wine has been organically certified since the 2015 harvest and has already been discovered by many sommeliers as an ideal house wine.

The full, soft and seductively tasting red wine comes from Monastrell and Syrah grapes, matures briefly in oak barrels and impresses in this price range.
