Sao Miguel Madxa Wit

Madxa (pronounced: 'madsja') represents the new trend in Portugal. Winemaker Alexandre Relvas strongly believes in the use of native Portuguese grapes, but which he grows, picks and ferments with contemporary insights and techniques. No longer bound to the traditions of 'old' winemaking, nor to the borders of the regions of origin.

 

Alexandre composes Madxa from wines of different origin. The white Madxa comes partly from the well-known Vinho Verde and Dão. That part of the wine provides aromatic power and a wonderful freshness. For the juicy and ripe notes, Alexandre selects wines from warmer vineyards around Lisbon. The mix of antão vaz, arinto and fernão pires grapes is very successful and distinctive. Wonderful aperitif wine, but also as an accompaniment to salads, fish and chicken dishes.
