Gewürztraminer (Alsace, Trentino Alto-Adige, Germany, rest of the world)
In Alsace this is made into a full-bodied, aromatic wine, including late-harvested versions such as Vendange Tardive or Selection Grains Nobles (dessert wine). Elsewhere, the wine is less opulent and often fresher in character. The characteristic spiciness "gewürz" is recognizable in each specimen.
Recognizable aromas : exotic fruits (lychee, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, muscat grapes, banana); floral (roses); spices (cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger); blossom (honey, blossoms).
