Huber Weinland Contrast 2022

Markus Huber believes that natural wine must also be made pure and wants to demonstrate his craftsmanship with Kontrast. He selects no fewer than 10 different old Austrian grapes, including grüner veltliner, frühroter veltliner, roter veltiner, neuburger and riesling. The grapes are harvested from a plateau vineyard at an altitude of 380 meters. A third of the yeast is on the skins, a third of the harvest is pressed directly and the remaining part is a combination of both methods. Maturation is also carried out in different ways, in large wooden barrels, cement tanks, stainless steel vats and small 225 liter barrels, always 'sur lie'. The special combination of vinification styles and grape varieties produces a beautiful, complex white wine. The fermentation is without the addition of SO2, only 20 mg per liter is added just before bottling. Kontrast is certified organic and is not filtered or clarified.

Original, fresh, dry natural wine that has broad gastronomic uses. Delicious with rich fish dishes, poultry, seasonal asparagus or Alpine cheeses.

Straw yellow colored wine with slight cloudiness. The scent is subdued with ripe apple, peach, apricot, brioche and almond. Accessible and full of flavor with mild acidity. The finish is lingering with light toast and peach peel bitters.

Now beautiful; can be kept for approximately 3 years after harvest.
