Description

Vermentino is the white quality grape of Tuscany. When made well, it goes well with delicate, but also more distinctive dishes from Italian cuisine.

The quality of the grape lies more in the full flavor structure than in an aromatic intensity, as you find in Sauvignon Blanc, for example. As a result, Vermentino fits seamlessly with refined dishes where the wine should not dominate, but rather support it.

Vermentino grapes are grown organically at Il Palagio. Once picked, fermentation and maturation of about five months in the tank follow.

This pure Vermentino smells modestly but beautifully of ripe white fruit. The white Message in a Bottle is delicious with many Mediterranean fish dishes, but also as an original aperitif.

Villa Il Palagio has been the holiday home of Sting and his wife Trudie Styler in Tuscany for more than 20 years. The famous couple has completely restored the old vineyards and certified them organic. From grape to wine, elements from biodynamics are also used.

A major leap in quality has been made in the cellar since the 2019 harvest under the influence of Riccardo Cotarella. He stands for a minimalist form of wine making, which fits in well with Sting and Trudie's philosophy of producing with respect for nature.
