Full yellow in color, powerful and refined in scent with nuances of ripe peach, apricot and almond. The taste structure is full, round, sweet and ends with a persistent, soft aftertaste and lots of aromatic length.

Description

Sylvie Plessis and her husband Christian make beautiful, dry white wines from the Chenin grape in the small appellation Savennières. The couple also owns a beautiful plot of slope vineyard in the Coteaux du Layon. The Sant Lézin stream flows at the bottom of the hill and the water provides the necessary humidity, allowing pourriture noble to occur on the ripe grapes in the autumn. The Chenin grape is harvested here late and by hand, only from October onwards and this is done in several times so that a large proportion of 'botrytis' grapes are picked. The careful vinification of Sylvie produces a flawless, sweet white wine with fantastic terroir and grape expression. Chenin of this level is one of the great white wines of France and can be aged for a long time, if desired, to create great flavor complexity.
