Description
Would you like to meet one of Australia's absolute top producers? Then try the red Billi Billi from Shiraz icon Mount Langi Ghiran. This wine may be the affordable calling card of the winery, but it clearly shows the excellence of Mount Langi.
The grapes are harvested from vines on average thirty years old in several prime, cool-lying vineyards in Victoria. Part of the harvest comes from the Grampians – the sub-region with the impressive mountain range of the same name where Mount Langi is located in the background. A small part even comes from the domain's own vineyards, which also produce the grapes for the legendary Langi Shiraz.
In the cellar, only natural yeasts present on the grapes are used for fermentation. To create a pure, fruity style, oak barrels are not used. However, the peels are immersed regularly for extra extraction of color and aromas.
The Billi Billi is an intensely colored red wine, with aromas of ripe blackberries, spices and cedar and a smooth, seductive taste. A delicious, characteristic Shiraz, which is rightly considered a best value by the critics.
