Provence rosé, order the best!
Rosé is a very own wine type; it is not a light red wine and certainly not a result of mixing red and white grapes! Making good rosé is a delicate process. In Provence they have made it a specialty. The typical Provence rosé is pale in color and has a light alcohol content (usually 12 to 12.5% alcohol). The latter is nice when it is warm and if you order a bottle for lunch.
We have built up our range of rosé wines over more than 25 years. All this expertise ensures beautiful rosé wines for the pure wine lover and delicious drinkable rosé wines for the novice wine drinker or parties.
Rosés from Provence are usually made with pressurage direct or direct pressing,
preceded by several hours of cold soaking for aromas and color extraction. It
squeezed juice is then vinified as white wine. This type of rosé has a lighter, salmon-like color
color, a light body and aromatic finesse. From ancient times there was a preference for this type
wines. So this is in fact the 'traditional' version! This style sets Provence apart from the
most other rosés in the world, because they are often made with the saignée method.
A disadvantage of the focus on the primary, fruity aromas is the relatively short shelf life of the
wines. In fact, they should be drunk in the year following the harvest. In addition, the
period in which they are normally consumed, spring and summer, is short.
