Description
Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi may be the largest and best-known appellation for white wines from the Italian verdicchio grape, but locals and connoisseurs know that the best Verdicchios come from the much smaller and more inland DOC Matelica.

Taste this beautiful copy of Tenuta Colpaolo! This family wine estate is owned by Francesco Porcarelli and his wife Stefania Peppoloni, who together represent the third generation.

 

They have ten hectares of vineyards in the nature reserve of Monte San Vicino, located 650 meters above sea level. The high location causes a difference in day and night temperatures of no less than fifteen degrees. In combination with the soils rich in limestone clay and the organic method, this allows Stefania and Francesco to produce expressive, terroir-typed Verdicchio.

The harvest is done by hand for an optimal selection of very ripe and healthy grapes. Once in the cellar, fermentation and maturation take place in stainless steel tanks. It produces a dazzling Verdicchio, which is distinguished by intense juiciness and a seductively ripe, full flavor while retaining sufficient freshness.

This makes the Colpaola wonderfully drinkable and both a fantastic aperitif and a beautiful accompaniment to tasty vegetable or fish dishes. Anyone who tastes this wine will immediately understand why verdicchio is one of the noble white grape varieties of Italy.

Drink with
Seductive, intensely juicy dry white wine to enjoy on its own or with tasty (fish) dishes. Delicious with pasta with salmon, barbecued sardines, stuffed avocados with shrimps and grapefruit or young, hard cheeses.
