Description

Tenuta de Angelis has earned a permanent place in our range thanks to the extremely popular Rosso Piceno and Rosso Piceno Superiore. Both wines have been among the favorite Italian house wines for years, because of their great value for money.

In addition to 'regular' Rosso Picenos, Quinto Fausti and his son Alighiero also make a special, luxurious variant. They only make these in the best years, and from the finest grapes from an old vineyard with low yields in the commune of Offida. Rightly so, that the wine bears the name Oro, or gold.

The grapes are planted at an altitude of 300 meters on clayey soils. After harvesting, the wine ferments in stainless steel tanks, before being aged for 15 months in a mix of large wooden barrels (30 hectoliters) and barriques (small barrels of 225 litres).

This classic Italian super-Rosso Piceno has ripe, sultry fruit, nice fresh acidity, a firm body and round tannins. Preferably drink it with a meal, it combines ideally with sausage or red meat, for example.
