Nere soil Calderara Sottana
Full yellow in colour and powerful in aroma, with caramel tones, oak and ripe yellow fruit. The full, dry taste is powerful, persistent and with a beautiful, creamy aftertaste.
Description
The Burgundy of the Mediterranean, that is how owner Marco de Grazia characterizes his refined, minerally Sicilian wines, originating from slope vineyards on the northern flank of the Etna volcano. The altitude provides cooling and refinement in the wines.
The organic planting and the ambition to make top quality force Marco to low yields so that the indigenous grapes have a beautiful expression. This cuvée is made from one grape variety, the carricante that comes from old vines. With the careful vinification such as fermentation in oak barrels and maturation in large barrels it is a remarkable Etna wine.
Only 4% of the appellation is white and this wine is considered by many to be at the top. The wine is bottled approximately twelve months after fermentation.
