Description

Ventisei is the young, hip organic label of none other than Vino Nobile icon Avignonesi. This legendary winery is once again flourishing thanks to the efforts of Belgian Virginie Saverys, who took over in 2009. Her major achievements include converting to organic viticulture and hiring a top team of wine professionals.

In the meantime, her own daughter, Eline Aloy, has also joined the group. After opening a wine bar in Antwerp at the age of 26, she also felt like making her own wine on her mother's estate. Ventisei (Italian for 26) was born.

This deliciously juicy, light-footed Rosso is made by Eline from 90% Sangiovese, supplemented with a little merlot and cabernet sauvignon. After the harvest, she ferments the grapes using natural yeasts in stainless steel tanks, for the purest and fruitiest character possible.

This produces this deliciously juicy, light-footed Tuscan red wine, with notes of strawberries, cherries and a hint of spices. It is (possibly slightly chilled) delicious as is, but also combines perfectly with pizza, pasta carbonara or a plate of salumi. Pure pleasure!

Drinking at

Refined, fruity red wine to drink as such, preferably slightly chilled. Beautiful with stuffed ravioli with ricotta and mushrooms, pasta carborara or soft, young cheeses.

Tasting note

Light ruby red wine with a pure scent of wild strawberry, cherry and rosehip. Light-footed and intensely fruity in taste with beautiful freshness and fine tannins. The finish is smooth with notes of laurel and cloves.

Shelf life

Now beautiful and keeps well for up to 5 to 6 years after harvest date.
