Description

Viña del Lentisco does not use terms such as Crianza, Reserva or Gran Reserva. Oak maturation is not a goal in itself here, but carefully attuned to the natural expression of beautifully ripe fruit, spices and a refined structure.

The Seleccíon may not be a Gran Reserva, but it is without a doubt the 'grand vin' of this distinguished bodega. It is made mainly from tempranillo, supplemented with graciano, garnacha and mazuelo. The grapes are harvested by hand in the estate's own vineyard right on the Ebro river in the highly regarded Rioja Alavesa.

A thorough selection takes place: only the optimally ripe grapes from the best plots are used in this top wine. The different varieties are fermented separately in stainless steel tanks. The Selección then matures for 18 months in French oak barrels.

The result is a stunningly refined and powerful Rioja, with as much seduction as depth and complexity. A beautiful wine to drink now or to let mature for a few more years.
